The Process
The Good Entrepreneur competition launches on 8 June 2009. The closing date for entries is 31 July 2009.
On the 8 June, anyone based in Europe who has an idea or business plan for a product or service that will help create a greener future is welcome to enter via www.goodentrepreneur.com. Applicants will be asked to submit an online entry form along with a 60 second video pitching their idea.
In August 2009, the competition’s three finalists will be announced on-air on CNBC as well as on this website. Each finalist will then be filmed to feature in a four-part televised series broadcast on CNBC documenting their progress. In the series finale, a panel of high profile judges will reveal the winner of the competition. The panel of judges includes:
- Nani Beccalli-Falco, President and CEO International, GE
- Reid Hoffman - CEO, LinkedIn.com
- Dr. Armin Sandhövel, CEO, Allianz, Climate Solutions
- Sir David King, Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment (former chief scientist to UK government)
- Jean-Philippe Courtois - President, Microsoft International
The winner named “The Good Entrepreneur 2009” will receive a prize package valued at more than €250,000, which includes exposure on CNBC and business support from Allianz.
The series will be broadcast across Europe, the Middle East and Africa and in Asia during the autumn of 2009.
