The Pitch:

WiHood is a virtual PC desktop service for children on a USB bracelet. WiHood utilizes old PCs with an internet connection to provide the latest technology and services to bridge the digital divide for all children.

WiHood virtual PC desktop service utilizes exiting resources (does not pollute the environment) while providing every child in the world with their own virtual PC and access to opportunities and possibilities for a better future.

Comments:

Kathryn Davies says: Looks really interesting.

Thomas Anglero says: Thank you very much Kathryn!

Julia Stephenson says: This would definitely be beneficial to schools in areas where resources are an issue

J Muusimaki says: I like the simplicity and social aspect - really interesting in deed.

Dan Frederiksen says: does it work well in practice? what's the cost? what do they get out of it? is it any faster to use a remote computer over the internet rather than the old computer directly?

Thomas Anglero says: WiHood is being utilized by students in several countries including two schools in remote Kenya both using a mobile internet connection which is perfect for usage.

As explained in the video, users get their own PC desktop including all the latest software they will need. These applications can not operate effectively on an older PC due to lack of resources but with WiHood's virtual desktop, students all the world have access to the latest technology by using the oldest PCs.

Thomas Anglero says: The WiHood website is at www.WiHood.com.

The website has more information about the benefits of the virtual PC service, how it helps students all over the world and how to order a WiHood bracelet from Amazon.com (free shipping).

Thank you for your support!

Otto Kalvø says: this is a fantastic tool!

Joshua Anglero says: What if a child lost his band? Is their some type of "remote storage" service that synchronizes the child's data? Great idea!

Thomas Anglero says: All of the child's data (homework, etc.) is stored on WiHood's servers, not on the WiHood bracelet. No WiHood information or personal information is stored on the WiHood USB bracelet.

If the child loses their WiHood bracelet, they simply need to get another bracelet...no information is lost.
