Street-Size Recycling Bins

The Pitch:

A street-size recycling bin for positioning initially in areas of high foot-fall such as high streets, train and bus stations etc. In this bin would be discarded all rubbish as happens with current refuse bins. It would then automatically sort the rubbish thrown in it into different types and even rinse the cans and bottles. This would then make it possible to recycle rubbish whilst out and about, and would allow recycling of everyone's waste as opposed to just the waste of those who are environmentally conscious and make that extra effort. This would crucially take out of the equation both the education and effort factors as the public would just discard waste in the bins as normal. The costs could be met by the sale of the recycled materials and revenues from 'green sponsorship' advertising space on the sides of the units.

AYSE SAYIN says: Simple and very useful. You don't need to be trained to use those sort of recycling bins.People who live in both developed countries and develoing or undeveloped countries can easly use it. They will only throw their tarshes to the bins they see in streets.

I think we have more problems in developing or undeveloped countries.
Due several reasons including education, welfare standards...etc, most of them don't even know the meaning of 'Recycling'. If the mayors can apply it to every street gradually, people will automatically use it and contribute to environment a lot.

Some of the pitches more focused on social networking or stuff that you need to use technology. Especially in undeveloped or some of the developing areas they don't even internet connection so it only adresses certain amount of people.

This street size recycling idea is very simple, applicable and addresses mass amount of people so it will contribute to environment massively. Good luck...
