The Pitch:
I engineered a new type of Internet Hyperlink, named the "stigmergic hyperlink", or "stigh", for short.
Stigmergy – from the Greek stigma (mark) and ergon (work) – means "the mark of the work".
In nature, stigmergic solutions abound, like the paths ants travel, marked with their pheromones. I look at Web users as if they were ants, and their clicks like pheromones or a manifestation of preferences.
Stighs can automate and decentralize the finding of valued Internet resources. In some situations they can be an alternative to the centralized search engine approach, taking pressure off the search engines and making clicks "greener". The multiplicative effects could be significant!
Stighs can also solve specific business pricing challenges, contributing an answer for the question "what should be the relative price for this item?"
Stighs can also capture user behaviour data, anonymously and transparently, helping non intrusive Marketing...
...and the concept can be translated to new business models.
