The Pitch:
Since I have known my mother she has suffered from chronic Bronchitis and like any other women whom I have known through my practice as a medical doctor. They offer me a sense of emphathising with women who use fuelwood as a source of energy for cooking. This has provided me a driving force of the successes I have registered at Wana Solutions Ltd. Approximately 90% of Ugandans use fuel wood as a source of energy for cooking and heating because of this, Uganda has lost 2/3 of its forests in the last 20 years towards fuelwood and if nothing is done, all the forests will be lost by 2050 and this has adverse effects on the water levels, environmental pollution leading to chronic and acute respiratory tract infections. Already farmers are struggling to adapt to what is perceive as rapidly changing and increasingly erratic weather patterns. Rain is not falling when it is supposed to and drought has left many farmers struggling to find enough food to feed their families. This is evident of the looming hunger across the country especially in Eastern and North Eastern Uganda
