The Pitch:

This project is about making carbon neutral hospitality the norm, rather than the exception, and offering the would-be guest a comfortable, conscientious choice.

Key Features of Each Hotel:

Renovated with healthy materials
Using only renewable energy sources, daylight, wind, ground source
Keeping landfill waste to admirably low levels.
Planting Trees
Harvesting/conserving rainwater.
Using award winning local foods
Providing great bicycles for guests to use
On site eco shop
Carbon negative vacations

And making sure the rooms are Chic. It’s got to look good and be luxurious!
It’s your carbon-conscious home away from home.

Kate Stead says: I think that it is a wonderful idea for people to be able to vacate at a hotel knowing that they are entering a space which is making every provision to be as green as possible.

I also think that it provides people with the chance to experience the comforts of "green living". Hopefully guests will be influenced to introduce more "green" in to their own homes as a result of a stay at this green hotel.

Ron Downey says: I like this idea and have been working with a client near you in York to do exactly this I would love to see it taken to it's very foundations and see a green hotel built that recycles it's water, generates heat from ground rods etc it is fantastic. I know a builder and architect who can do it and have the track record The probelm is finance and the time involved in building and getting the capacity up to a sustainable business level. But that can be your business goal in 5 years.
