About: I was trained as an Environmental Economist at the London School of Economics (LSE). I am the Founder and CEO of Worldview Impact, a Social Enterprise incubated at the LSE and based in the heart of London. But I have my roots deep in my homeland Meghalaya, - "The land where all the clouds come home" which is one of the seven sister states of North East India located on the Eastern Himalayan foothills. I belong to the Khasi Tribe, a small indigenous community that still practice the old ways of sustainable living. However, the world is my home and I live my life to the fullest each day with honour, passion and of course adventure.
My project is creating sustainable business for a sustainable future in the developing world by mitigating climate change at the grassroots level, through the creation of sustainable livelihoods in order to reduce poverty. My global team is currently working on addressing social, economic and environmental issues by using the Triple Bottom Line business approach working with local partners in nine pilot countries covering Asia, Africa and South America.

The Pitch:

Become Carbon Neutral and participate in the Carbon Free Organic Rubber Revolution! Worldview Impact will make your green investments grow when you offset your individual or corporate carbon footprint by investing in a Sustainable Business for a Sustainable Future.
There is urgent need to both neutralize carbon emissions and reduce poverty on a large scale globally. Worldview Impact is creating sustainable livelihoods in the developing world by investing in green business opportunities at the community level. We are creating environments where local people can actively participate in climate change mitigation and adaptation projects, including carbon off-setting by planting rubber trees.
It is estimated that 10 fast growing rubber trees can offset the annual carbon footprint of an average European or North American.
We aim to mitigate 1 million tons of greenhouse gases - offsetting the footprints of 100,000 Europeans and Americans - by growing 1 million rubber trees on underutilized land. And we’ll do it organically, sustainably, and ethically.

Projects in each of our nine pilot countries share these targets:
1. Protect the environment and biodiversity; mitigate climate change by establishing rubber tree plantations, water and clean energy harvesting projects.
2. Enable local economic growth by creating sustainable livelihoods; green jobs for rural people.
3. Support social development through poverty reduction initiatives and by providing skills training for rural youth.
4. Promote conflict resolution through the creation of safe, respectful and sustainable working environments for parties in conflict.
5. Support public health by manufacturing carbon-free, organic contraceptives and surgical gloves for disease prevention.

Comments:

Indiana Baseden says: Love the pitch! Exactly what the planet needs; solutions that address our environment, our society and our economics.

jessica white says: This is innovative and sustainable. The impact is far-reaching. I vote for this.

Yiting Shen says: I've heard the story many times... every time still yet I am touched. It's the passion, the persistence, and the love for our planet.

Thumb up for Bremley and the WorldView Impact!

Sandra De Andrade says: Our standard of living in the West which is oil intensive (used in almost every aspect of society from food to drugs) produces high volume of CO2 and therefore impacts on other part of the world causing desertification, droughts, forest fire, floods… offsetting our carbon emissions will reduce the impact of our lives on those regions. Bremley’s project addresses social, economic and environment issues in those poor & conflict regions at the same time. It creates a new way of living respectful of nature.

phil stebbing says: Hi B,

Right behind you and would love the Lifeline to come and visit.

Check out www.thelifeline.tv and see if one of the routes is passing by one of the projects planned and we will cover it.

love light and success

Tatiana Glad says: My hope is that innovative solutions such as these that allow for more (sustainable) rubber production don't distract us from ignoring why we consume so much in the first place - but rather draw attention to the real innovation here being that which lies in taking a larger systemic view. Where social innovation inspires environmental and economic health. Creating a more resilient local economy that is better equipped to meet challenges as they continually evolve, is what I am pleased to see at the root of this initiative. Go Jungle Boy!

Anirudh Bhati says: It is heartening to know that the world has social entrepreneurs like Mr. Lyngdoh who understand business and environment with a unique perspective and are capable of presenting the soft side of capitalism by putting responsibility and growth on the same pedestal.

People, planet, profit.

Max Oliva says: It is ideas that combine a global vision with local impact, which we are in most need of to bring about change. Worldview impact impersonates this and I'm confident it will serve as a spark to many more people who are willing to be part of the change!

Teiborlang T Kharsyntiew says: Hi Brem,

I'm sure an indigenous project in mitigating climate change is an innovative start up. By imbibing ethical values of technological revolution i'm sure we can revive the traditional & indigenous concept of environmental economics which is at a critical point in developing countries...

Our Planet our future world...!

Teibor

Archie Graham says: Well done Bremley (and by extension, Worldview Impact) for bringing this perspective to such a complex and delicate matter.

I believe putting on the table the "creating sustainable livelihoods in the developing world by investing in green business opportunities at the community level" argument will sure win hearts and minds of key stakeholders in the effort for a global environmentally sustainable future.

My vote and support is always there for Worlview Impact and its ethos.

Keep up the good work.

Archie

Nathan Hayes says: Worldview Impact does exactly that; creating an environmental impact on a global scale, working in some of the areas most affected by climate change. The way in which the organisation engages with local people, through the creation of sustainable livelihoods, the fantastic work can continue for generations to come.

The work of Worldview Impact and its founder Bremley Lyngdoh is inspirational, and certainly deserves recognition.

Calvin Chang says: Worldview Impact's plan to create a sustainable, grass roots industry within the developing world strikes the perfect balance between social development, environmental responsibility and a sustainable business model. By developing stakeholder values in conjunction with a personal profit motive, Worldview is establishing a long term strategic vision for the enrichment and development for all of humanity.

Irene Tosti says: I believe that the lesson learnt from the financial crisis is that complex structures may have a low level of transparency and a high level of risk. Bremley Lyngdoh with Worldview Impact has been realising a simple idea that is easy to understand and that brings effective results. This is what is needed today. Well done, Bremley!

Sofia Bustamante says: great Bremley! What I love is that you address the social, environmental and financial challenges in one go, with simple elegance. And in areas that so desperately need regenerating. It is great that the initiative can scale up and that the profits are fuelled back into the business. Congratulations! it is this kind of systemic thinking that we need.

Damian Orvananos says: It gives me hope to see that projects like these are gaining more and more momentum...

Large-scale projects like this one, that empower local communities and heal the environment while at the same time raising awareness are like breaths of fresh air!

I am proud of being part of the bridge that will bring you and Worldview Impact to Mexico and help it grow here. Bienvenidos!

Arvind Devalia says: Great pitch Bremley!

Though we only met very briefly a few weeks in a noisy, dark club in London, I got right away just how passionate and committed you are to making a difference in the world.

Your ideas, inspiration and energy is what the world needs so badly today. Good luck!

Jonathan Krause says: Looks like an excellent idea Bremley. Seems to me to be very simple and straightforward, which the best ideas always are. I hope you can make this a reality.

Best regards.

Bethany Elce says: Long live this great idea! It manages to achieve so much on the human as well as environmental level. Keep it going!

Lamia Ayadi says: Since a long time, I have been « «witnessing » the outstanding and true commitment of Bremley to save “Mother Earth” as he likes to call it :) .
I am simply amazed by his strong perseverance and humble attitude in his multiple and positive achievements. We can ALL only SUPPORT Jungle Boy in his goals where all of us and next generations will benefit in.

Keep up the Good Work and May all your Sustainable Efforts in saving/ protecting Environment & building Real Sustainable Business in the most needed places of that Planet be rewarded again and again for your long successful road ahead !

Long live to Worldview Impact & Long live to you!

All the Very Best.

Shauna Kelly says: This project is boundless in its ability and potential to simultaneously create sustainability, make communities and cultures thrive and help the environment. It's an admirable and profound project!

Alessandra Perrin says: This project sounds really great and I have faith that it really will help our planet because a man like Bremley is behind it. He is a hardworking individual that never seems to take a break and yet still enjoys life to its fullest potential. It's amazing how many projects he can sustain at one time. We need more people like him then the dream of saving Earth won't be far off. We should all aspire to this and get involved in Worldview Impact.

Bremley W.B. Lyngdoh says: I just want to take a moment in thanking each one of you for sharing your kind words of inspiration and amazing support. I am so grateful that you all took the time to read through my pitch and rate my project. May the positive green force be with each one of you as you journey through this living planet in a more conscious way.

Jaspal Sehdave says:
In all the hustle-bustle of our daily lives, we tend to ignore so much that we wish wasn’t happening around us and sometimes turn a blatant blind eye pretending to read something more interesting in the news papers while some articles may be screaming out, all the damage that we are doing to our very own planet.
Yet again, we have some brilliantly determined youngsters like Bremley who take it upon themselves to make some difference to our world while they too could have gone around picking and some high paying profession and leaving it to the coming generations to pay for our nuisances!!!
My vote goes for this very practical and innovative project.

Jennifer Corriero says: I like the local to global connection and how your project combines a focus on supporting sustainable livelihoods while fighting climate change in a practical way.

I also really enjoyed the video and how it explains your approach!

~ Jennifer

Natalia Vaccarezza says: This is truly a smart and sustainable solution. The video is fantastic too.

Your passion is clear and inspiring.

Best of luck!

Natalia

Elise Klein says: I think the project is energetic and innovative and includes an inspiring way forward for our planet. Congratulations.

Irina Pleva says: Competency and awareness sometimes is not enough for a sustainaibility. Initiative, action and deep sense of responsibility - that´s what brings a value. Brem, thank you for your leadership, dedication, enthusiasm. Your project definetely has a positive impact. You prove being ready and skilful individual to act beyond only the words and ideas. My vote goes for your project!

Don´t hesitate to contact if any support or help needed, would be keen to support you even with a small things.

Smiles,
Irina :)

April Bezdek Pomey says: This is a great project. The world definitely needs ideas like these!
I have a question: I assume all the rubber is indeed needed? Will some be exported? The manufacturing process is also as carbon-free as possible right?

Keep on the good work!

Isaac Joseph says: What an amazing initiative! We need more of these actions to save our planet from peril! Keep up the great work Brem, and remember that we are always there to lend a helping hand and/or ideas!

Cheers!

Bremley W.B. Lyngdoh says: Indeed Worldview Impact follows a non-emission policy for its plantation management.

The technology that we use is environmentally friendly based on renewable energy systems to generate electrical power in the rubber plantations from solar, wind and micro-hydro sources.

Bio gas is also used in our rubber production process and our plants are designed to run on clean and efficient machines that have zero carbon output.

Anna da Costa says: Forests are rapidly emerging as one of the most critical climate change mitigation tools. In addition, projects such as this, that work in a systemic rather than linear way are truly the way forward! The work of Worldview Impact continues to inspire and amaze me. Change is possible, and it is beautiful.

Bremley W.B. Lyngdoh says: Indeed starting with Sri Lanka as our first pilot country, we aim to mitigate 2 million tons of GHG from the atmosphere (which is equivalent to the yearly carbon footprint of 200,000 Europeans or Americans), by planting 2 million rubber trees in 4000 hectares of underutilized land over 30 years (approximately).

The planting of rubber trees using multi cropping methods with other food crops of commercial value will also ease pressure on precious remaining rainforests on the island. Agroforestry will be of great help for the poor that live in these rural communities that we work in.

All our rubber trees will be grown organically in our rubber plantation in Sri Lanka. So we will be saving over 300,000 tons of carbon by using organic fertilizers instead of carbon based chemical fertilizers.

Stuart Moir says: Bremley,

The realisation of resolving conflict through combatting deforestation is a fantastic achievement. I fully endorse the idea and offer my help if it is ever needed.

In time I believe the project could, in fact, be implemented in other regions of the world, such as the Caucasus and Central Asia, in particular in either Nagorno-Karabagh or Kyrgyzstan, or even along the Russia-China border, where illegal logging flourishes unchecked.

Keep up the good work and you have my full support!

Stuart

Henrique Bussacos says: Such a great project! I hope it really comes to Brazil, because it would be very helpfull for our people and environment!

Let's support it!

Bremley W.B. Lyngdoh says: Worldview Impact has established pilot example in India & Sri Lanka for large scale replication of sustainable development.

We are aiming at similar projects also covering Africa (Ghana and Togo) and Latin America (Mexico and Brazil) within the next 10 years.

We will be creating thousands of 'green' jobs; sustainable livelihoods for households in many rural communities.

We will be providing positive environment benefits: restoration of degraded lands, reforestation, ground water recharge, top soil cover improvement (and possibly mitigating of Green House Gases if more community based reforestation projects are approved under the Post Kyoto agreement at the COP 15 in Copenhagen in December 2009).

Ricardo Bronfman says: Bremley, congratulations for the great iniciative!
Wish you the best!

Joanie Bergeron Poudrier says: There are 2 things we need to do to save our planet. First: We need to help the rural communities in developping countries.Second: we need to revitalize our environment by doing reforestation. Worldview Impact is doing both! Congratulations on your project Bremley. I vote for this!

Nancy Roof says: Nancy Roof says: Congratulations on an amazing project. I know that you will have the dynamic energy to make this a reality. We are leaving the world in great hands with the younger generation that is building on the foundations rooted through earlier generations and continuing on with the same optimism, drive and commitment. It is inspiring!

Joan Perry says: Love your contagious enthusiam for an important cause. Let's enjoy doing good.

Bremley W.B. Lyngdoh says: Thanks Nancy. well about 200 green jobs are being created in Sri Lanka.

As our first pilot country it will provide sustainable livelihoods to about 1000 people living in the rural and remote south eastern parts of the island.

Furthermore, our aim is to establish a green micro finance fund to help rural women diversify their livelihood strategies.

These will include handloom and handicrafts which will further increase the economic benefits of the project for the local population as well as the investors.

Dechen wangmo says: Dear Bremley,

You are doing great job not only for your birth own place but also for the whole world !
I feel proud and honored to be part of World Viewimpct project! Bremley been inspiring and supportive person since i met him in 2001.Since then;he had been guiding and encouraging me in every activities, especially on Environmental conversation.
Bremley’s project addresse on social, economic and environment issues, where Bhutan is facing todayand also today Bhutan has to overcome an environmental concern and a geological concern, both potentially huge because of upcoming of hydroelectric dams.

With the Bremley`s project,Bhutan will be creating thousands of 'green' jobs for the youth because unemployment has become a major concern of the Nation.

We are looking forward for the day that Bremley could leave the footprint on the soil of Bhutan!

carolyne Counts says: Brem you are a true visionary. By giving the pilot communities the knowledge to be economically and environmentally self-sufficient, World View can really make a difference. The potential impact on public health alone is major. I know your true desire to help the people of the world and the planet will make this a better, safer place for future generations.

Mahesh Sugathan says: Dear Brems

The beauty of your initiative is that it addresses so many aspects of sustainable development-the environmenal, the economic and social-in one go. It also proves that protecting the environmet need not come at the cost of economic development or poverty reduction. It is an inspiration to everyone to identify and develop similar 'win-win' opportunities. It will benefit not only our planet but so many poor in the target countries and will enable their children as well to look to a better future and lead healthier, happier lives. Kudos on your vision and all the very best with your projects as well as the for the competition.

Bremley W.B. Lyngdoh says: Thanks Mahesh for your kind words of support. Well the competitive edge of our business lies on the fact that we will have both environmental benefits and poverty reduction strategies incorporated into our business model.

Poverty will be reduced instantly by the planting of rubber trees (following organic methods), as well as other food crops suitable for the local environments in the various pilot countries.

Additional knowledge will be shared with local communities by training them how to clear lands; make compost and produce micro organisms for fertilizing; and techniques to maintain forests and plantations with the highest levels of return.

In addition income from sales will be shared with local communities or local institutions providing the land, as part of share cropping, lease agreements, or other methods selected by local partners.

Olivia Martin says:
Uniting concrete actions to our responsability for cleaning up the air that sustains all life, helpig to provide livelihoods that also contribute to this aim and doing it all in a sustainable tripple bottom line framework that is financially supported by those who have the greatest resources and debt to this end (big companies) - is a great integrated idea that needs suport and levarage!

This is also a great way to create increased awareness and engagement for preventative action and joined responsibility/action.

Happy to know that the seeds of World View Impact are starting to be planted in Brazil...may they grow into strong trees with deep roots!

Congratulations Bremley and way to go! Hope you get the support you need to leverage this great idea to its highest potential.

del mei says: Bremley represents real passion and real positive attitude as a social entrepreneur and a obviously a good one that will bring every project he undertakes to very far and benefit people in far reach regions as well. I defintely have my vote for Bremley and my eyes on him as one of the top entrepreneur to look out.

Bremley W.B. Lyngdoh says: Thank you Olivia and Delphine for your kind words of support and inspiration which will keep me focused on my mission on planet earth. I have also set up the Worldview Impact Foundation which is working to:

Promote and support the implementation of the Millennium Development Goals of the United Nations.

Provide capacity building and training for young people in the developing countries for employment generation.

Generate awareness and support initiatives that addresses the public health implications of global climate change.

Create awareness and provide support to initiatives that addresses the nexus of poverty and environment.

Provide a forum for young social entrepreneurs in the developing world to connect with their peers in the developed world.

Zubair Zakir says: Dear Bremley (and your team),

Firstly congratulations on getting so far with your project and I wish you the best of luck with your efforts.

Coming from the carbon markets, I cannot stress enough how important it is right now to international negotiations the use of forestry (reforestation, improved management, avoided deforestation) to the future of an appropriate scheme.

The sequestration capacity of the worlds forests is nature's own carbon capture and storage system, albeit one that is in constant flux - but ultimately is an available working alternative to the mechanical CCS technology which is still both years away and will cost Billions.

Your project addresses this key need and furthermore it addresses some of the real underlying complexities, so very important in implementation. We in the developed world can come up with all the schemes we want to reverse the damage of our past behaviour, but to protect and regenerate the environments you are looking at, to ensure actual execution with positive social benefits requires the approach you are taking with the participation of local people.

Without the participation, communal benefit and consent of local people - there is no environment, and we all know without the environment there will be no people.

This is a great project and I fully endorse the efforts of Worldview impact. I would highly recommend the investigation of the leading carbon accounting standards which add transparency when approaching investors. As a buyer of carbon credits, forestry is an area of huge interest and I am interested to hear more about the features of your project.

B Q says: Unless enterprise begins to co-exist with environment significantly better than it historically has, humanity is slowly realizing its rude awakening.. the world needs more solutions that are comprehensive in nature, that close the loop and offer a triple bottom line (what's good for the planet is good for you, as it is for me), because all the money in the world won't buy us a new world, or overhaul our atmosphere. kudos to the worldview impact team for realizing this and putting forward a proposal that might give us a fighting chance before damages to the delicate ecosystem we inhabit become irreversible.

James Gifford says: Great pitch Bremley! Awesome project!

chris white says: Politicians of this world need to listen to practical and commonsense ways of moving forward. We ordinary people too must realise that we need to be responsible in our everyday actions for the sustainability of the planet. This is an extremely important and worthwhile project and is to be highly commended.
Chrissy White

Bremley W.B. Lyngdoh says: Thanks you Chrissy, Benjamin, James and Zubair for your valuable inputs. I want to add that as we are a social enterprise we have our own CSR policy.

Worldview Impact follows a robust policy of corporate social responsibility, following a Social Enterprise model.

The company will secure the best working conditions and remuneration of the employees, with ownership shares to the workers, with part of the profit to be used for community development in the area.

The company is committed to providing basic health and housing standards to the community and education for all (with scholarships to youth from the area for higher education, which is lacking today).

Aiming at a complete welfare programme the project is committed to integrated development and beneficial contributions to the local community.

Caroline Calderon says: Excellent video - the message is clear: the rubber tree revolution does not only mitigate climate change but it brings further environmental, social and economic benefits to the lands and local communities. The environmental effect as an integrated part of the many solutions to combat climate change ultimately benefits everyone on this planet.

So vote for Worldview Impact, and show your support in tangible form by buying a tree!

Bremley, could you please share your view on how carbon neutral fits into the grand scheme of climate change mitigation.

Thank you!

Steve McCoy says: Love the video, the pitch, the way this triple-bottom-lined project exemplifies socio-environmentally responsible investment and has win-win-win outcomes! Reforestation projects are especially very much for NOW... crucial as they are to ward off the climate change tipping point while the energy industry slowly gets its act together. Well done Worldview Impact!

Andrew Horton says: If you're going to change the world, you don't just need a good idea - you need a great motivation. Bremley: you seem to have that in abundance. Your idea sounds too good to be true, too simple to register at first glance. But, when you look at the constituent parts, and how they all harmonize as one - it truly is inspired. It's not quirky; it's not wacky; it's not pipe-dreaming. It's a down the line, get-your-hands-dirty, practical, heart-led action plan. I endorse you.

Bremley W.B. Lyngdoh says: Thanks for your feedback Caroline! Well we invite our supporter from around the world to reduce their carbon footprints by taking small footsteps on the dance floor by joining our fundraising party called the Carbon Neutral Dance which aims to raise funds for our agroforestry projects in our nine pilot countries.

This 8th Carbon Neutral Dance held in London was the start of our Carbon Neutral Dance Global movement that will see Carbon Neutral Dances taking place other major cities like New York, Sao Paulo, Paris and ending this year in Copenhagen for the United Nations Climate Change Conference in December 2009.

By uniting the global community and dancing for the planet in all these cities, we hope to mitigate climate change, reduce poverty and improve living conditions in the developing world. So dance for our planet and our people!

Stay tuned as more Carbon Neutral Dances will take place around the world in the upcoming months. Sao Paulo, Itacare, Paris, Copenhagen: don't miss out as more and more people around the globe gather to dance for our planet !

maurise m says: Sounds like a great project that incorporates so many aspects of sustainable development for our world and people. Truly inspiring. The video was awesome. Great concept.

george hollendorfer says: Brilliant Concept, simple in design but elegant at the same time.
A concept that can be applied with ease and without a lot of ramping time.
Designed in a such a way that are virtually no barriers to entry.

I applaud the innovation and the thought process that came with the idea and also the many benefits that will come from it.

Vote for this project it is a true winner

Camilla Flatt says: Having seen the projects on the ground really benefiting the recipients is so inspiring. The work that has gone into this project to make sure negative potentialities are mitigated has been extensive and is testimony to Bremley's determination to make a truly sustainable enterprise.

Bremley W.B. Lyngdoh says: Thanks Maurise, George and Camilla for your support in our project. We also launched the Carbon Neutral Artist on 3rd December 2008 where singer, song writer and actress Karen David recorded a new version of her song ‘Shillong Shillong’.

She donated her song to Worldview Impact to support the rubber tree planting project in her homeland Meghalaya, North East India.

So you see - You don't have to be Bono to save the world. We hope other young artist from around the world will follow Karen's footsteps!

Eszter Fodor says: Love the pitch. It is well thougt through and could be a revolutionary way to merge business, economics, environment and the disadvantaged.
Great Concept!!!

iba blah says: Awesome pitch. You have my full support on this. Looking forward to this green revolution here in our part of the globe and indeed it would be a great blessing to the rural community in our villages when those above mentioned targets are achieved. All the very best Bremley!! Make this happen!

Bremley W.B. Lyngdoh says: Thanks Eszter and Iba for your comments on our project. You will be happy to know that we have also launched the Carbon Neutral Athlete project on May 2009.

We have joined Team Green Britain and invited Olympic Athletes to reduce their footprints by planting rubber trees in poor countries which will mitigate climate change via carbon absorption, create sustainable livelihoods for the poor from organic rubber production and reduce poverty at the community level in the long run.

Avinash Chiranjeev says: The project which has been initiated by you is really the current need to protect our burning mother earth and for the sustainable development so that people around the world may have the better solution for social, cultural, economic and eco-friendly environment.

Arash and Kelly says: Love the pitch and the vision. An extraordinary and timeless project which will inspire generation after generation.

Dan Chippendale says: Good one Brem. The idea is simple, but it has amazing potential to make a huge difference not only to our planet but also the people involved with the project.

Cecile de Gardelle says: Congratulations Brem ! After Bali and Poznan, I am convinced that you can create a change ! You have my support !

synjuklang rynjah says: Love the pitch and above all your enthusiasm for such an important cause. Extraordinary project to the many you have inspired.Backing this entry for the top prize.all the best brem.

Briana Whitlock says: As someone who works in corporate responsibility, I see a great deal of opportunity for organisations like World View to work together with businesses to get meet their objectives, while helping socially responsible businesses meet theirs.

World view impact is versatile, dynamic, yet solid in that it has support from a local through to an international level. I see it having a great deal of success in the coming years - which means key benefits to our climate, and its people.

miha kranjc says: Wish i could copy this idea in Slovenia, but i just found my way to help. Great work Bremley!!!

Ana Rome says: keep up the good work!!!!!! :)

ales sinko says: nice to finally meet, hope to see you again soon!!! and keep up the good work!!!
Ales (Ana's better half! :))

kwesi anderson says: Its interesting to see how people are in support of the project, although they are commenting from different angles and how the perceive the issues seems to agree somehow.

However, it will help a great deal if the following could be clarified
1. what is the carbon footprint of an average European (figure will be useful)
2. we aim to mitigate 1 million of GHGs by when (will be useful)
3. target 5 is not clear in terms of public health

Great work though.

Mahesh Sugathan says: Brems, please keep more cool videos coming in the future as they really bring the project to life for those of us located far away the actual sites. It would also be a great way to keep track of the progress of the project over the years.

Allen Kharbteng says: I hail from the same town as Bremley but now live in Cambridge, UK. I see his project from a slightly personal angle. Our state Megahlaya has suffered severe deforestation. Although we receive the highest rainfall in the world, we have drought in winter and spring.

Worldview Impact can aid in reforestation and stem some of the erosion and soil degradation that has happened. He is working with the Khasi tribe's local chiefs to make this a reality in our state. He is in a good position to do this as he belongs to the same clan. This will provide employment and sustainable livelihoods. Even more important it will inspire the locals to start their own initiatives.

It is a win win proposal. My home state gains in employment and reforestation while off setting carbon. And so will other parts of the world that Worldview Impact works in.

A truly unique model!

Anne-Marie Voorhoeve says: good work - let's get on ! hurray from Holland, Anne-Marie

Kenroy Roach says: Brem,
This idea is indeed a welcome one. This complements perfectly the Low Carbon Development Strategy being promoted here in Guyana. I love the potential of your green-business concept. It tangibly addresses and connects the issues of employment, environmental sustainability and climate change mitigation in a very direct and sensible manner. Good luck and know that you have hundreds of supporters here in the Caribbean, ready and willing to do our part.
Kenroy

Elisabet Sahtouris says: YES, YES, YES! This kind of project that revitalizes local communities is exactly what we need ti survive the coming disasters.

Augustine Lytan says: Good work Brem. A project that does something positive for the planet and at the same time provide employment opportunities for the local people in developing countries should be welcome and supported by everyone.

Bertrand Beghin says: Great pitch, great cause, great business idea... Bremley is an extremely talented person with vision, charisma, talent and a natural leader! Keep the faith.

Bertrand

Anton Chirkunov says: This business idea is a very unique proposition. It combines sustainability and social awareness. Great work Bremley!

Olivia Martin says: Beautiful work! It is a very inspiring video. a great idea with meaningful impacts. Congratulations, Bremley, for your leadership in this amazing project!
I wish the seeds you are planting now will grow strong in the future and count on me to spread these seeds here in Brazil!

Scott Evans says: Well done Bremley, this is a great pitch for a great cause. Best of luck with it. Your enthusiasm and determination will get you far!

Aanand Vibhakar says: You're an absolute inspiration.

Keep it going.

Bremley W.B. Lyngdoh says: I just want to take a moment in thanking each one of you for supporting our global movement and sharing you feedback on this blog. I am happy to report that so far we have 1573 Worldview Impact members from 75 countries following us on Facebook and Twitter. On the positive side I am happy to inform you that we will be launching our new pilot projects in Mexico and Brazil this year.

On the negative side I want to share this report on - The planet's future: Climate change 'will cause civilisation to collapse'.

This is the stark warning from the biggest single report to look at the future of our planet – obtained by The Independent on Sunday ahead of its official publication next month. Backed by a diverse range of leading organisations such as the World Bank, the US Army, and the Rockefeller Foundation, the 2009 State of the Future report runs to 6,700 pages and draws on contributions from 2,700 experts around the globe.

Read the story at:
http://www.independent.co.uk/env...

Let us keep the faith and work together in partnership at a global scale to prevent this collapse at any cost.

Bremley W.B. Lyngdoh says: I also want to share an exciting new project with all of you called "Worldview Space" which we launched on 1st May 2009. Worldview Space now provides Social and Environmental Entrepreneurs with their own command and control center in the heart of London where they can launch and manage their own operations and projects locally in London or nationally in the UK or internationally in other countries. If this sustainable model of office space sharing takes off here in London, then we will introduce Worldview Spaces in other countries where we have projects running.

At Worldview Space we will show special presentations of our Worldview from Space where you will see satellite images, photographs and videos showing real action on the ground from all our Worldview Impact pilot project countries around the world. So welcome on board our ship!

Anamaria Aristizabal says: This is a great pitch, to the point, and very inspiring. We would love to have this kinds of initiatives in Latin America, where there are tremendous opportunities for sustainable business and income generation that leads to the right kind of development.

Indiana Baseden says: Getting more and more fascinating as the comments come in. I would like to take this occasion to share another one of Bremley's innovative concepts that has been taking place for over a year now. That is the Carbon Neutral Dance: a fundraising event that seeks to bring people together on the dancefloor so that they can contribute footsteps to erase their carbon footprints and at the same time support Worldview Impact's pilot reforestation projects in its nine pilot countries.

So far, Carbon Neutral Dances have taken place in London, Geneva, New York, Sao Paulo, Itacare and are planning to take place in Copenhagen in December for the UNFCCC COP15, Paris, Slovenia and more..

Fun, meeting new people, helping to mitigate climate change and creating jobs - all of these have been addressed by this wonderful "carbon neutral dance" project. Check out the blog www.carbonneutraldance.com

Sandeep Singh says: Well done Brem.

What distingushes better ideas from the rest is their potential to make real impact in peoples lives. Your pilot porjects have gone on to prove progressively and emphatically that small initiatives can make big difference, if there is ownership at the local level.

I particularly liked the Sri Lankan project, which have had clear and demonstrable outcomes so far. Good luck with all other new initiatves and projects, but remember the real challenge is in replicating the piolts at large scale and engaging youth at all level in the implementation.

Sandeep
