Hans Hoppe says: Hi Toon, glad you liked it. The name is a bit of a mouthful, admitted, but we want our service to be truly industry specific, not a one size fits all. The medical biotech industry relies very heavily on collaboration (to keep up with the big pharma giants) but is one of the hardest to convince of the benefits of the occasional web conference to substitute for air travel, mainly because people are convinced their complex scientific data could not possibly be viewed and manipulated in real time in a conference.

Well, we built just that and hence we wanted to make a point by launching in this, rather difficult initial market because it is going to be easier from there on, both commercially as well as technically. Also, there are plenty of teenage chat rooms out there, and they all have snappy twitter-friendly names - we just did not want to mingle.

vic weekes says: It's already been done so not really sure what your USP is??? Are you cheaper or do you have something else unique that you haven't mentioned. I'm sure skype and google would be all over you like a rash if you had.

Glad you liked the video - there is so much refinement to video presentations one could make, but for the time these things take.

There are currently no web conferencing facilities which enable data analysis and manipulation for any biotech or molecular medicine application. That is the whole point: People will only reduce flying to their business meetings when you can offer EVERYTHING they expect to do in the conference room or during their lab visit in a web conference.

You are right: Teenager chat rooms simply will not do. And just "sharing" a pdf file online is also better done via email.

So our "live lab bench" software will break new ice (not the polar type) and is as unique as it could be! Bio-businesses and med/pharma are our most challenging markets because of the difficulty of displaying, say 25ooo atoms (!) in 3D and rotating them in real time during a fully encrypted web video conference. Plus all the fancy medical image formats that need converting into something one can share online.

But once our product has been launched successfully, ANY other air-travel intensive industry could be our next market. Architectural 3D? Engineering? Any industry really, where people still believe they can not view and manipulate their data sets in real time online - and for the most part, with current software offerings, they can not.

Let's change that - hence my pitch!
