Artica – Eco Friendly Cool Air

Hi Mary, Yes the system...

The Pitch:

Artica is a low energy alternative to air conditioning that reduces energy usage by up to 90%.

The natural cooling, ventilation and heat recovery system uses ‘thermal batteries’ to capture energy when it is freely available and release it when needed, reducing energy bills throughout the year.

Unlike air conditioning, Artica enhances the quality of the internal environment with clean, fresh air, creating a healthy and productive space in which to live and work. The patent-pending technology is low maintenance, has a long working life, and is easily installed in both new and existing buildings.

In addition to the energy and CO2 savings, Artica does not use coolant gases which are often toxic, deplete the ozone layer, or are powerful green house gases. The main materials inside the unit are ‘up-cycled’ from waste by-products of other industries, reducing land fill.

Artica works in harmony with nature to tackle the problem of hot and stuffy indoor spaces, without adding to the problem of climate change.

Artica works in harmony with nature to tackle the problem of hot and stuffy indoor spaces, without adding to the problem of climate change. Artica proves that not only are sustainable solutions achievable, but that they also do not require a compromise in performance and comfort.

The vastly reduced running costs provide a real financial incentive and rapid payback of the initial investment, so ‘going green’ is not just good for the planet but also makes sound business sense.

The Artica system has been successfully prototyped, tested and independently verified. It is currently undergoing commercial trials with our first customer. A soft product launch is planned in October 2009 with a full roll-out approximately 1 year later.

Grégoire Mazarakis says: Simple ideas have the best change to succeed.

Mary Keutgen Genoud says: I would like to know more about how your system works. You mentioned your system could be installed in current structures. Is size of the structure important??? I have a small building in Geneva, Switzerland and will be doing some renovation work next year. Environmentally-friendly cooling would be perfect especially with such low energy useage.
Let me know more; when will your system be available and where will it be distributed.
Kindly, Mary

Mathew Holloway says: Hi Mary,

Yes the system will work with any size structure and is easy to retrofit. We have only just launched the product in the UK and are currently concentrating on getting it established here. Please keep an eye on our website for further information and feel free to ask any more questions.

Paul Jones says: Dear Mathew, congratulations on your award! I watched with interest the program from Dubai where I work. I wonder would there be any potential for your system in such an extreme environment as the UAE?
