Q&A with Roland Berger

Prof. Dr. h.c. Roland Berger
Chairman & Founder
Roland Berger Strategy Consultants

Be diligent and alert and trust your own abilities

Comments:

Roland,

I am also a fan of architecture and if architects ruled the world, we would all have beautiful and inspiring places to live and work that would allow us to much more easily reach our potential!

On a more serious note, I applaud your Foundation and scholarship. I think we all need to find ways to tap into the intellectual, creative and spiritual potential of our fellow citizens to allow good ideas and actions to surface in order to change the world for the better.

I'd like to offer my business coaching services to the scholarship winners as a gift. This could help them more easily implement their projects to achieve sustainable success. I wish them all the best of luck.

If you think this could be useful, please feel free to contact me at ep@pallasco.com.

Best wishes,
Eleni Pallas.

  Q&A with Roland Berger

Roland Berger founded his own consultancy in Munich in 1967 when he was just 30 years old. Four decades later and it's one of the leading strategy consultants in the world.

An entrepreneur is... an innovator who takes risks to create value for his or her customers, employees, shareholders, him/herself and society as a whole

The best advice I ever got was... be diligent and alert and trust your own abilities

And the worst… quite a bit, but fortunately I never follow such advice.

I'm most proud of… having created the only leading strategy consultancy of European origin among the top 5 worldwide.

I wish I'd never…. a true entrepreneur shouldn't waste any time on such thoughts - why create a world full of fear and regrets about missed opportunities? Instead, it's important to set up something meaningful, develop good products, be innovative and be open to other people and their ideas.

In another life I'd have been… an architect, which unfortunately I don't have the right skills for this life.

They said it would never work, but… the Roland Berger Foundation, which I established just one year ago, has just presented 160 talented young people from socially disadvantaged backgrounds and supports them with our "Fit for responsibility" scholarship program, each individually.
