Dear Team,
a question about the rules:
The 3 finalist`s - are they the first 3 of the "most popular entries", or does the jury screen all of the pitches and the popularity is only a hint for the jury?
Because for example, maybe one project can motivate more friends of the project and the other dont have so much friends that like to give private information that you require for the registration...
Or do you have a key like: 30% Jury, 30% public opinion, etc.?
Some more detailed information about the prozess would be helpfull (if we have to make a campaign - and is the effort usefull )

Warm Regards from the Ruhr-river
Jochen

Dear Team,

Please let everyone know since when some of the rules of the contest are optional.

For example rule number two has been disregarded for a while: There are entries from CIS, Switzerland and Turkey which are clearly not in the EU or in EEA.

"The competition is open to individuals resident in or companies incorporated in the European Union or European Economic Area are eligible to apply (“Applicants”). Individual Applicants must be over the age of 18".

European Economic Area (EEA)

The Agreement creating the European Economic Area (EEA) entered into force on 1 January 1994. It allows the EEA EFTA States (Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein) to participate in the Internal Market on the basis of their application of Internal Market relevant acquis. All new relevant Community legislation is dynamically incorporated into the Agreement and thus applies throughout the EEA, ensuring the homogeneity of the internal market.
The EEA Agreement is concerned principally with the four fundamental pillars of the Internal Market, “the four freedoms", i.e. freedom of movement of goods, persons, services and capital. But also “flanking policies” such as social policy, consumer protection, and environment policy may be covered. The EEA Agreement does not cover agriculture and fisheries.
The EEA Agreement allows for EEA EFTA participation in Internal Market relevant Community programmes and agencies, albeit with no right to vote. The EEA-EFTA states also make financial contributions towards the reduction of economic and social disparities in the EEA.
The Agreement covers most of the substance of the EU's relations with the EEA EFTA States. The updating of the Agreement through the incorporation of new relevant Community legislation generally runs smoothly and thousands of legal acts have been extended to the EEA to date

Hi Margarit,

Many thanks for your post, and thanks for pointing out the inconsistency.

We had sought to limit this to EU and EEA but due to a high level of interest from countries excluded by that definition, we have reconsidered.

We have had a fantastic response to the competition from all over the world and so have decided to change the EU/EEA requirement as we wanted the competition to be Europe-wide.

We are changing the wording of the rules and will send out a notification to anyone who’s registered with us.

We apologise for any confusion.

Dear team,

In "The process", you say:

"In the series finale, a panel of high profile judges will reveal the winner of the competition. "

Does this mean those high profile judges are involved only in the finale or they are in charge of all the selection process?

Just wondering. Thank you.

They are involved in the selection process and will be deciding the finalists and the ultimate winner.

Hi Alex,

Thanks for the question. Yes, it's the same panel of judges who are involved in the selection process.
