Dear fellow contenders,

This is clearly a contest for “one idea to change the world”. In my understanding in order to change the world the idea has to be applicable at a global scale and to cause fundamental changes of the system or product it wants to improve.

This is why many of the projects confuse me because: a) they are limited geographically sometimes to only one continent b) they are by definition designed to work at a small scale or c) they cannot work at a large scale.

Another issue is how long will it take for a particular idea to change the world. Because it is one thing to start changing the world in the near future and completely another to change it in the decades to come.

Dear Alex
You are asking the fundamental question : as a direct consequence of the economic globalisation, our world is more and more becoming a global one. An idea to change the world is a slogan. As every slogan, the message must be concise and in that, certainly true and wrong at the same time. Our world and it’s evolution is more and more driven by the economy. In front of the actual crisis politics are now trying to give less importance to the invisible hand and to help good entrepreneurs. For me a good entrepreneur is a good business model launcher. This means that his business model needs to have a good economic, social, societal and environmental return on invest. The best entrepreneur will launch a business model those ratio: invest / (economic + (social societal) + environmental)s’ benefit is the best and the highest. Unfortunately in our global economic system it’s easier to calculate the economic return on invest than the social, societal or environmental one. I wanted to participate to the good entrepreneur’s competition with a new bimodal mobility idea and new attached services, having a great potential of CO2 emission decrease.
You are right when you say that the idea must be widely applied to be efficient at a global level: that’s precisely why the business model needs to be efficient. As the diffusion vector is an economic one: the social, societal or environmental efficiency of the idea to ‘’Change the world’’, is directly linked to the international commercial success (Geographic and time efficiency) of the launching.
I don’t know the ‘’on the ground return’’ of previous competitors but I think that the help given to the winner is going in that sense. One idea, applied in my back yard has less chance to change the world than the same idea beneficing of the financial, commercial and technical help of the good entrepreneurs’ organization.

To come back to the competition I have, unfortunately been too late to send my film. To be more precise all the needed elements were ready one hour before the end of the inscription. So I registered, put my “about” and “pitch’’ text and tried to understand how to leave the film. As I am not familiar with the English language, I thought that I didn’t understand one step of the process. I lost my nerves trying to find my mistake on the different pages of the web site without controlling my email box. So I couldn’t click the URL to confirm my account. I don’t know if the registering process is clear but I nether saw that an email was sent by the organisation and that I needed to confirm my registration was required to install your film. By taking into account this situation to ask if it’s possible, to send my film now, and exceptionally be late. I am now trying to find an email address to send the message and to ask the favour of the jury to participate this year.

Thank you Alex for your question
Best regards to you and all the people sharing this net platform.

I agree, my idea works accross all geographies, could have an impact within months, uses social tools to be globally disruptive to the fundamental industry that is causing the problem ( electricity generation ) and focuses on a systemic problem with the market with an absolute minimal individual effort with zero per person cost which has the outcome of potentially shifting green electricity policy itself.. now thats leveraging the power of the people..

You are right! It's a long way to Tipperary! But don't forget: Even a great trip starts with the first step. So to change something needs a good idea. Please have a look on 3F swiss monsoon systems in this competition and you will find: It's somthing to help climate change now! Globally! Even in the emerging countries and Third World, because on free market CO2 Emission stock exchange creates 100% refinancing to succede: Never again forest fires. No more CO2 emissions in a scale of 8.000 Megatons and much more some scientists estimate till 50.000 Mto. If you like read http://www.pohler.de/PE-GCPP/PE-GCPP-us.htm. there is now a big need of action! Let's stop bitching and moaning about!

A world with no CNBC to mock great ideas! - that will change the world!
Imagine how many good innovative people could have saved their time and use it for good reasons than waste it in ridiculous contest run by by amateurs.
