1600/27/07/09 - an earthquake proof foundation for single storey buildings was anounced today by N.W.Davison. for use with the structulate sytem of building.
The design basis for a new prefabricated base wil be an adaption of their existing p-Base 1801 .

Design will consist of an additional base frame supported in the 'Y-Axis' by a series of linear rate springs.

The base frame wil be damped in the 'X'- Axis and the 'Z'-Axis by proportional rate springs.

this new design will prevent failure of the building walls, irrespective of the direction of propogation of the standing wave created by the earthquake..

The pillars for the lower base frame will be a set of 6" mini-piles set into energy absorbing elastomeric p-crete603.

This move should open up our structulate panel building method to earthquke zones and disaster relief situations.

Thank you Japan !

I read today that Only 2 pagodas have failed in the last 1300 years. I knew I was right !

Make the building move in the oposite phase to the earthquke wave, It has to work.

And damp the energy transmitted at joints.

Again Thank You Japan
